During a marathon, a lot of energy is used and that is why it is very important to use adapted sports nutrition products.
The marathon pack contains the necessary energy products to use the days before the marathon and on the day of the race itself.
Do not forget to hydrate by drinking enough fluids. This package assumes that you do not take your own beverage, but use the beverages from the refreshment stations. If you would like to take your own sports drink with you, fill this package with 3Action Sports Drink, the ideal thirst quencher during the efforts.
BEFORE THE MARATHON
- From 3 days before the marathon, you can start increasing your energy reserves. Use 150g 3Action Carboloader per day. This can be done by dissolving 60g in 500ml water (or another non-carbonated liquid) or by adding for example 1 measuring scoop (20g) to your yoghurt, pasta sauce, soup, etc. in order to increase the intake of the carbohydrates without having to eat huge quantities.
- Use a lightly digestible, carbohydrate-rich breakfast before the start, possibly supplemented with 3Action Energy Xtra bar, rich in carbohydrates, low in fiber and fat.
- Use a 3Action Energy Drink Lemon just before the start of the marathon to keep the blood sugar level stable and leave with a filled fuel tank.
DURING THE MARATHON
- Use a 3Action Energy gel or 3Action Liquid Energy Gel regularly during the marathon. Try to take an average of 60g of carbohydrates (also count the Sports Drinks) per hour. Both the concentrated Energy Gels and the more liquid Liquid Energy Gels contain 25g of carbohydrates per portion.
